Launch session postponed

For all of you who were looking forward to a launch on 21st or 24th September, I have had to postpone for a variety of reasons.

If you have any queries about this please email me.

Best regards

Competion winner, Lucy from Reigate

Here is a picture of a young Kevin Burke who is one of my fiddle playing heroes and has taught me from his Homespun DVDs. I am pretty sure that he would also have chosen the same winner for the competition.

The aim of the competition set last June was to complete the phrase…

“I love the Irish fiddle because…”

Lucy came up with the following and won the big box of Irish music CDs:

“I love the Irish fiddle because its happy and jumpy and expresses life as joyful and is a good way of learning about my Grandma’s past and family roots.”

Kevin Burke exemplifies the happy, jumpy even cheeky nature of Irish fiddle playing at its best and Lucy has identified this. She heard me playing at a summer party and wrote down her entry that evening. Kevin Burke, like Lucy, has firm roots in Ireland even though he was born in London.

And Lucy, like Kevin, plays violin!

I really hope that Lucy one day finds fulfillment in playing just a little Irish fiddle and finds her roots in Ireland just like Kevin has done.

Well done Lucy!
